Key Competencies: - The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
• Plan and prepare to conduct tests and receive and record all samples from clients before testing.
• Conduct photometric and colorimetry tests and analyze recorded generated test results.
• Validate tests conducted and interpret test standards/methods and generate reports.
• Develop and co-ordinate testing schedules and develop new testing methods to meet customer requirements.
• Conduct witness testing for internal and external clients to demonstrate and verify testing process.
Calibration and maintenance:
• Prepare, & apply calibration procedures to calibrate & verify test equipment and demonstrate the appropriate maintenance and basic trouble shooting requirements.
QMS (Quality Management System):
• Conduct all activities assigned to maintain the QMS and maintain all aspects of the laboratory’s quality system in accordance with requirements and the relevant ISO standard e.g. ISO/IEC 17025 (SANS).
• Provide subject matter expertise and advice where necessary.
• Conduct training and coaching sessions for employees and managers.
• Ensure responsible housekeeping within your work area at all times or as directed by management.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety principles & procedures, & keep up with all the changes in the OHS requirements.
Customer Service:
• Provide excellent customer service by handling technical queries and resolving problems where necessary.
• Record and attend to customer issues within the agreed time frame and follow up on customer queries, complaints at all times.
• Analyze customer requirements, check alignment to SABS specs, provide advice on interpretation & application of SABS specifications.
Administration and Reporting:
• Ensure on time findings reporting, accurate and appropriate documentation and admin where necessary.
• Improve the overall profitability of the Company by controlling the Testing functions and procedures of the Company.
• Wear the Company Uniform with pride.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Set a personal example for yourself and others in areas of personal character, organisational skills, commitment and work habits etc.
• General duties and ad hoc tasks, projects and requests when required.
